Marlene Theresa (Kozup) Kane

Marlene T. Kane, lovingly known as “Mar,” passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with vascular dementia on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born on July 3, 1945, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Mar later made her home in Edison, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Lottie Kozup.

Mar is lovingly remembered by her cherished children, Daniel Kane and daughter-in-law Karen Kane, and Lisa Latham and son-in-law Casey Latham; her sister, Rose Marie Cipko; her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Eileen Kozup; and her faithful companion, her beloved dog, Remi. She is also remembered with love by her lifelong best friend, Lucille.

Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, Haley, Kenny, Simone, and Beau Latham, whom she adored beyond measure.

Mar loved shopping, attending church, enjoying meals out, doing puzzles, and, most of all, treating the people she loved to their favorite things. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her kindness left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

In keeping with Mar’s generous heart, the family asks that you extend kindness to others in her memory. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later time.
